Participants, sign up here and we will connect you with local organizers.

Some ideas of things you can do (big and small):

  • Hold a rally to combat anti-immigrant and Islamophobic government actions, to support the DREAM Act and protest the Muslim Ban.

  • Organize an interracial, inter-faith, and inter-generational #MoralMondays action on October 9 to resist the Muslim Ban.

  • On October 10, join a #NoMuslimBanEver event.

  • Reach out and collaborate with local immigrant-serving organizations, worried about deportations and cuts in services

  • Coordinate a Twitter Town Hall or a Facebook Live event to discuss the issues and how to act for justice

  • Invite folks to a Solidarity Saturday or Sunday potluck in your home or meal at a local establishment to discuss the issues and write your elected officials

  • If you’re a teacher, consider incorporating these topics in a lesson plan during the week

  • Celebrate Filipinx American History Month by highlighting the struggles and contributions of the Filipinx community related to these issues

  • Hold a postcard/letter writing or phone-banking event, calling your elected officials to advocate for immigrant rights and against Islamophobic acts

  • Start creating and editing Wikipedia entries on AAPIs and the struggle for immigrant rights

  • Organize a teach-in at your school and/or religious institution on the issues

  • Hold a fundraising event to support organizations like United We Dream, CAIR, and local community-based service providers like Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center

  • Support Sunayana Dumala, the widow of hate crime victim Srinivas Kuchibhotla, and her right to stay in the U.S. by contacting your Congressional representatives about HR 392.

Let’s try to organize at least a dozen events for #AAPIAction (e.g. educational potlucks, fundraisers, documentary viewings, rallies, teach-ins, etc.) nationwide for this week of action and solidarity for justice.

Let’s make a powerful united statement as AAPIs who care about justice, when our communities are under attack, We Stand Up and Fight Back!
